Russell’s new ETF “RDV” lists on ASX

RDV – Australia’s first high dividend ETF – a global first for Russell….

In a global first for the company, Russell Investments has today announced the listing of the Russell High Dividend Australian Shares ETF (RDV) on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).

The next generation Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) provides investors with an easier way to access a diversified blue chip Australian shares portfolio that aims to deliver a higher dividend yield than the market.

RDV is based on the new purpose built Russell Australia High Dividend Index and has a bias towards those companies that have a high expected dividend yield (taking into account franking credits) and which meet other characteristics, including: a history of paying dividends; dividend growth; and consistent earnings.

Amanda Skelly, Russell’s director of product development, ETFs, Australia said, “We are excited to have our new product officially listed on the ASX. RDV has been tailor-made to specifically meet the needs of Australian investors, especially SMSF investors,” she said.

Richard Murphy, General Manager Equity Markets at the ASX, said: “We are pleased that Russell has chosen to list its first ever ETF on the ASX. Investor appetite for ETFs continues to grow and we welcome Russell to the Australian share market. The decision to list on ASX demonstrates a belief in the ASX market and the future for ETFs in Australia. It also recognises the support we provide to major global investment issuers, such as Russell, to deliver a growing range of quality ASX listed investment choices for investors.”
