the PIMCO EM Advantage Local Bond Index Source ETF, an ETF that offers similar yields but at a lower duration than traditional market-capitalization weighted emerging markets local debt strategies, and the PIMCO Short-Term High Yield Corporate Bond Index Source ETF, the first European ETF to offer exposure to the short-term segment of the high yield market. Both ETFs allow investors access to these asset classes through a diversified portfolio of fixed income instruments but without the higher structural duration embedded in traditional market indices.
The PIMCO Short-Term High Yield Corporate Bond Index Source ETF, and its EUR hedged shareclass, is one of the fastest growing high yield ETFs in Europe, with assets of US$ 650 million[1]. The ETF aims to provide the performance of the BofA Merrill Lynch 0-5 Year US High Yield Constrained Index, a broad benchmark of over 800 USD-denominated corporate bonds. The ETF is physically invested in bonds and is managed by PIMCO, benefiting from PIMCO’s expertise in smart passive index replication and credit filtering.
The PIMCO EM Advantage Local Bond Index Source ETF offers exposure to local emerging market sovereign debt via the PIMCO EM Advantage Local Currency Bond Index, an innovative, GDP-weighted index, offering exposure to 15 emerging market countries. The ETF provides exposure to key emerging market countries missing from traditional indices (e.g. China and India). The ETF currently has assets of US$ 200 million.
These two listings re-affirm PIMCO and Source’s focus on innovation and commitment to the Swiss ETP market.
