The total number of trades decreased by 5.6% to 2,718,045. Gratifyingly, a higher level of activity was observed in the Structured Products and Warrants segment, where turnover increased by 6.6% to CHF 2.9 billion and the total number of trades rose by 10.2% to 107,523. All relevant equity indices lost ground in August 2010: the blue chip SMI® ended the month at 6,180.9 (-0.3% versus the previous month), the SLI Swiss Leader Index® PR at 936.0 (-2.0%) and the broadly based SPI® at 5,465.3 (-0.5%).
