Faisal El-Hakim – Head of MENA
Faisal will cover institutional investors in the Middle East and North Africa. Philippe will cover institutional investors in France, Luxembourg, Belgium and Monaco. Dennis joins the marketing team as an analyst with a particular focus on German language content. Gemma joins the legal department and assists with matters relating to product launch, product maintenance and general compliance. The growth in the Source team helps meet the needs of Source’s expanding asset and client base. Source sees increasing interest in new content Source continues to deliver value added content that complements its range of traditional broad market indices. The recent launch of the Source Morningstar US Energy Infrastructure MLP UCITS ETF has piqued investor interest and raising nearly US$50MM in AuM since launch last month. The ETF provides access to the US midstream energy infrastructure sector which is a part of the shale oil /gas value chain that many investors believe has promising prospects for growth. The demand for fixed income products has remained buoyant which has driven the growth on assets in the PIMCO Source product suite, bringing the NNA year to date to US$1.9BN.
Faisal El-Hakim – Director
As the Head of MENA, Faisal will have responsibility for coverage of institutional, corporate, family office and high net worth investors across the region and offshore. Prior to joining Source, Faisal was an executive director at a specialist investment company focused on investments and trade flows between the Middle East and Far East. Previously, he held a variety of senior roles at HSBC within derivatives structuring and emerging market sales. Faisal has also worked at ABN AMRO, Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns with a focus on MENA and CEE clients. Faisal holds a Masters in Mathematical Trading & Finance from Cass Business School and a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics..
Philippe Secnazi – Associate
Philippe is responsible for the coverage of institutional investors, private banks and retail distributors in France, Luxembourg, Belgium and Monaco. Prior to joining Source, Philippe spent more than two years covering institutional clients, including private banks and funds of funds, for France and Monaco at Robeco in Paris. Philippe joined Robeco from Natixis Global AM, where he worked for four years and was responsible for coverage of French private banks and funds of funds. Philippe holds a Master’s degree in Bank Finance (Magistere Banque-Finance) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Technical Financial and Banking, both from the University of Assas-Paris II.
Dennis Bergot – Marketing Analyst
Dennis is part of the Marketing team, where he creates high quality marketing materials, carries out insightful market analysis and proactively supports client relationships. Prior to joining Source, Dennis worked as Product Manager for listed structured investments at Westpac Banking Corporation in Sydney where he started his career. During his studies, he worked as Business Development Analyst at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as well as in Tax and Audit Services at Ernst & Young in Hamburg. Dennis earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Hamburg and a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University, Sydney.
Gemma Steel – Counsel
Gemma is a solicitor in the Source legal team, and assists on all legal matters relating to product launch, product maintenance and general compliance. Before joining Source Gemma worked at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, where she dealt with legal queries relating to asset management, distribution, product development and launch, lending and new regulation. Previously Gemma worked as an investment funds lawyer at Hogan Lovells, and also spent 6 months on secondment at BlackRock. Gemma has an MA from Cambridge University in Law and Art History, and is qualified and admitted to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales.
