Alexis Marinof
In this newly created role, Mr. Marinof will be based in London and responsible for managing SSgA’s ETF strategy across EMEA. He will work closely with the product development, sales, marketing and capital markets teams.
Mr. Marinof will report to Mike Karpik, senior managing director and head of EMEA for SSgA and Jim Ross, senior managing director and global head of SPDR ETFs.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Karpik said: “It’s fantastic to have Alexis join the SPDR team. I’m certain he will be instrumental in successfully articulating and distributing our capabilities in the region. We have seen ETF assets grow four-fold since we reestablished our presence in EMEA. We are committed to strengthening our ETF proposition, and Alexis’s appointment supports this strategy. He brings a wealth of experience and is a strong addition to the team.”

Prior to this role Mr. Marinof led SSgA’s Dubai office since 2008. In this role he oversaw business development and client relationships across the Middle East and Africa. Alexis will transition to his new role in September ensuring a smooth handover with his successor.
In addition to this is the appointment of Edwin Mars as senior sales manager, intermediary business with SSgA in Amsterdam. Edwin joined on 1 June and will be focusing on the sales and distribution of SPDR ETFs across the Netherlands.
