Vanguard Investments Switzerland GmbH has today announced the cross-listing of three of its Irish-domiciled exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to the SIX Swiss Exchange, increasing the Vanguard group’s presence in, and demonstrating its commitment to the Swiss market.

As one of the largest ETF markets in Europe, Switzerland is an important focus for Vanguard. Listing this selection of ETFs will provide Swiss investors, with easier access to Vanguard’s high-quality, low-cost products.

The three physically-backed Vanguard ETFs being listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange are:

      Fund                                                          TER       SIX Ticker SFr
      Vanguard S&P 500 ETF                               0.09%        VUSA
Vanguard FTSE All-World ETF                       0.25%        VWRL
Vanguard FTSE Emerging Markets ETF         0.45%        VFEM

Tom Rampulla, head of Vanguard’s European operations, said: «Like our traditional mutual funds, our physically-backed ETFs offer investors a simple, low-cost way to gain broadly diversified market exposure. These are the first ETFs we’ve cross-listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange and it’s a logical step in providing increased access to our products across Europe. It also illustrates our commitment to providing our clients with the best investment products in a way that works for them, with minimum cost.»

Vanguard has been serving Swiss investors since 1998, opened its Zurich office in 2008 and established a FINMA regulated Swiss entity in May 2011. In the US, Vanguard set a mutual fund industry record in 2012 with US $141.2 billion in net cash inflow, including US $52.2 billion in ETF inflow. Worldwide, the Vanguard group manages US $245.6 billion in ETF assets (as at 31 December , 2012).
