13.1 % versus the previous month.The total number of trades stood at 3,387,089, a 5.3 % drop compared to March 2009. In a gratifying development, turnover in ETFs increased on a monthly basis by +6.6 % to reach CHF 4.1 billion.
The turnover in structured products and warrants also rose by +4.6 % to a total of CHF 2.96 billion. All of the indices for shares listed on SIX Swiss Exchange gained ground in April.
The blue chip SMI® Index ended the month at 5,225.9 (+6.1 % versus the previous month), the SLI Swiss Leader Index® PR at 787.8 Punkten (+14.0 %) and the broadly based SPI® at 4,487.5 (+8,5 %).
